Connected in Community
The circumstances of the last eighteen months have provided an incubator for all of us to learn and grow. We have learned to be more patient with those around us stretched by illness, unemployment or loss. We have learned to preserve through rapid change and discomfort. We have learned some lessons about community. Whether it be a spouse, our kids, our extended family and friends, our church, or a community of people with which we share like values, interests or compassion for – finding community to lean on can and has made all the difference to many of us in surviving and thriving in these challenging times.
The writer of Hebrews speaks of community in this way – ‘In response to all He has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good.’ Hebrews 10:24 (TLB). The encouragement to followers of Christ is that we would lead the way in helping and serving others.
The Dove Investments website – www.doveinvestments.com - highlights three community projects that are dear to our hearts. Strong Tower Ministries helps at-risk children in Mexico, Hope Again serves the disenfranchised in Hollywood and Wounded Warrior empowers wounded veterans. Now, more than ever, we need these community organizations and they need us. We encourage you to find one that fits your needs or passions. Get involved, offer your time, and donate.
If there is anyway we can help you get connected in community, please let us know. If there are any steps you desire to make with your financial plan, please contact us. Dove is here to help.
